Split System Installation Perth

A split system is the quickest, most affordable way to cool a single bedroom, lounge or home office in Perth — but getting capacity right is critical. Too small and it runs flat out on 40°C days without reaching temperature; too large and it short-cycles, leaving the room cold and clammy.

For Perth homes we generally recommend roughly 100–150 watts of cooling per square metre, adjusted up for west-facing windows, poor insulation, high ceilings or kitchens with significant heat load. A 25 m² bedroom typically needs a 2.5 kW unit; a 40 m² open-plan living space usually needs 5–6 kW. We'll measure your space and recommend the smallest unit that genuinely fits the job — which usually saves you $400–800 over the oversized model a retailer might push.

A single split is one indoor head connected to one outdoor unit — perfect when you only need to cool one or two rooms. For three or more rooms, a multi-head system (one outdoor compressor feeding 3–5 indoor heads) often makes more sense: fewer outdoor units cluttering the wall, one electrical circuit, and quieter overall operation.

That said, multi-head systems have a catch — if the outdoor unit fails, every room loses cooling at once. For homes where ducted isn't viable but you want resilience, a couple of separate single splits in the key rooms is often the smarter choice. Our standard installed price covers: supply of the unit, wall mounting bracket and indoor head, up to 5 metres of insulated copper pipework and drain line, electrical connection back to your switchboard by a licensed electrician, refrigerant top-up and pressure test, commissioning, and removal of all packaging from site.

If your installation needs longer pipe runs, a new circuit at the switchboard, asbestos-safe penetrations, scaffolding for second-storey work, or core drilling through double-brick, we'll itemise those costs in the written quote — never sprung on you on the day.

A standard single-head split system installation in a Perth home typically takes 3–4 hours. Multi-head systems usually take a full day. We arrive when we say we will, lay drop sheets, vacuum up after ourselves, and walk you through how to use the remote and clean the filter before we leave.
