Common Perth air conditioning faults we fix
Perth's climate is hard on air conditioning systems. Salty coastal air from Cottesloe to Hillarys corrodes outdoor coils. Red dust through the Hills clogs filters and condenser fins. Long, brutal summer runs wear out capacitors, compressors and fan motors. The good news: most faults follow a small number of well-known patterns and can be fixed the same day.
The faults we see most often: not cooling (usually low refrigerant from a slow leak, or a failed capacitor); strange noises (worn fan bearings or a loose blower); water leaking inside (blocked condensate drain — almost always fixable in 30 minutes); the system trips the breaker (compressor short, capacitor failure, or a faulty contactor); and the controller showing an error code (which we'll decode on the phone before we come out).
